Ibanez AW417CE-OPS is a cutaway acoustic western guitar with onboard electronics, part of the Artwood series. This series combines traditional luthiery with modern construction methods to achieve a natural and balanced tone.

Construction and materials

The guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top for a clear and well-defined sound. The flamed okoume back and sides contribute warmth and tonal depth. The nyatoh neck is paired with a pau ferro fingerboard and bridge, featuring subtle maple inlays. The neck is slightly wider – 48 mm at the nut – making it suitable for players with larger hands or those alternating between classical and steel-string guitars.

Electronics and functionality

Equipped with an Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup and AEQ-TP2 preamp with built-in tuner, the AW417CE-OPS offers both balanced XLR and ¼" outputs, providing flexibility for stage performance and recording.

Design and details

The cutaway dreadnought body allows easier access to higher frets. Other details include a bone nut and compensated saddle, chrome die-cast tuners, wooden rosette, and Ibanez Advantage™ bridge pins for convenient string changes. The Open Pore Semi Gloss finish preserves the natural resonance of the tonewoods.
