Benson STÖRKN B0kš – Limitless Germanium Fuzz Chaos in Torn-Class
The Benson STÖRKN B0kš is a special edition of the acclaimed Stonk Box pedal, created in close collaboration with guitar icon David Torn. Built upon Benson’s own modified interpretation of the classic Tone Bender MK1, this version delivers deeper bass, wider dynamic range, and more experimental sonic possibilities than the original.
Tone Bender DNA – bigger, darker, and wilder
STÖRKN B0kš was developed to give Torn more low-end response for down-tuned guitars. The variable bass control lets you blend between the thinner Zonk Machine-inspired character and a fully open MK1 mode for massive fuzz walls.
Positive Feedback Switch – controlled chaos
A unique positive feedback switch activates a separate oscillation path, enabling:
- Synth-like filter tones
- Sub-oscillations
- Self-generated noise and feedback
- Unpredictable experimental textures
Perfect for creative guitarists seeking unconventional sound design.
Automatic Thermal Bias – perfect germanium tone every time
The pedal uses Benson’s smart auto-thermal bias system. The germanium transistors (2N404 or 2N527) are gently heated to a precise operating point, ensuring consistent tone regardless of ambient temperature.
- LED amber – warming
- LED green – optimal bias
This provides stable tone from freezing conditions up to around 38°C.

FAQ
How long does the pedal take to warm up?
Normally 2–3 minutes until the germanium transistors reach optimal bias.
Does the pedal work in high temperatures?
Yes, it is optimized for up to around 38°C and may function slightly above that.
Can I adjust the internal trimpot?
No, it is factory calibrated and should not be touched.
Does the pedal need to be placed first in the signal chain?
Yes, like most germanium fuzzes, it performs best first in the chain.
