5-String Electric Bass with Slim Body and Versatile Tone Control

The SR5CMLTD-CIL is part of Ibanez’s Premium series, built on the SR platform that has been one of the most recognized small-body basses for over three decades. It combines light weight and smooth playability with extensive electronic options, making it suitable for both long playing sessions and diverse musical styles.

Construction and Design

The body is made of curly maple, ash, and walnut, paired with a 5-piece panga panga and purpleheart neck reinforced with KTS titanium rods for enhanced stability. The bound panga panga fretboard features oval abalone inlays.

Features and Performance

Two Nordstrand Big Single pickups deliver a powerful single coil sound with clear definition. The Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ is optimized for these pickups and includes a bypass function as well as three selectable mid-frequency settings (250, 450, or 600 Hz).

Connections and Controls

Controls include volume, pickup balance, bass boost/cut, treble boost/cut, and midrange boost/cut with frequency selector. The Ibanez MR5S Mono-Rail bridge features 19 mm string spacing for isolated string resonance and stable intonation.
