Guild Starfire Custom DC GVT GH Black Metallic

Guild Starfire Custom DC GVT GH Black Metallic – semi-hollow electric guitar with Dynasonic pickups and Guild Vibrato

Guild Starfire Custom DC GVT GH Black Metallic is a double-cutaway semi-hollow electric guitar from Guild's Newark St. Collection, designed for players who want classic 1960s-inspired character combined with refined modern details. Its arched maple top and back, maple sides and set mahogany neck provide a traditional semi-hollow construction with acoustic resonance and clear electric definition.

Two DeArmond Dynasonic single-coil pickups deliver a bright, punchy and articulate sound with distinctive twang, while individual Volume and Tone controls are complemented by a Master Volume for quick adjustment of the overall output level. A Guild Tune-o-matic bridge, Guild Vibrato tailpiece, Grover G2TM open-gear tuners and gold hardware combine practical performance with an upscale visual finish.

The Custom trim package further enhances the instrument with an ebony fingerboard, mother-of-pearl and abalone V-block inlays, ivory-coloured binding, decorative purfling and classic Guild headstock inlays.

Overview and features

Double-cutaway semi-hollow construction

Starfire Custom DC features a semi-hollow double-cutaway body with an arched maple top and back and maple sides. The construction provides the airy, woody character associated with classic semi-hollow guitars, while the double-cutaway shape offers good access to the upper frets.

DeArmond Dynasonic single-coil pickups

Dynasonic pickups were originally developed by Harry DeArmond in the 1940s and have a distinctive character compared with many other single-coil designs. They deliver bright highs, punchy attack and strong definition with characteristic twang, making them particularly well suited to the resonant semi-hollow construction.

Individual Volume and Tone controls with Master Volume

Each pickup has its own Volume and Tone control, allowing the neck and bridge pickups to be balanced independently. A separate Master Volume then lets you adjust the guitar's overall level without changing the individual pickup settings.

Vintage Soft U mahogany neck

The set mahogany neck uses Guild's Vintage Soft U profile, providing a substantial yet comfortable playing feel with clear vintage inspiration.

Ebony fingerboard with V-block inlays

The ebony fingerboard is decorated with mother-of-pearl and abalone V-block inlays. Ivory-coloured fingerboard binding reinforces the refined Custom aesthetic.

Guild Vibrato and Tune-o-matic bridge

The Guild Tune-o-matic bridge is paired with a gold Guild Vibrato tailpiece, providing a classic semi-hollow layout with smooth and expressive vibrato capability.

Custom Trim Package

The Custom trim package includes ivory-coloured binding around the body, headstock, F-holes and fingerboard, 5-ply black and ivory purfling on the top and back, black and ivory F-hole purfling, a tortoise pickguard and mother-of-pearl Guild Peak and Chesterfield headstock inlays.

Black Metallic finish and gold hardware

The gloss Black Metallic finish is matched with gold hardware for a distinctive premium appearance. Grover G2TM open-gear tuners complete the vintage-inspired design.
