Polyphia is primarily an instrumental progressive rock band based in Plano Texas. By weaving together technical and virtuoso guitar instrumentation with hip hop, jazz and R&B influenced productions and grooves, Polyphia has created a truly unique and original sound.
Ibanez has worked closely with Tim Henson, one half of the dynamic guitar duo Polyphia, for many years, and together they have developed a signature model, the TOD.

Inspired by the Ibanez AZ, the guitar also features some of Tim's personal touches, designed for his versatile playing style. The TOD's most striking aesthetic feature may be the fretboard inlay design, which Tim has dubbed the "Tree of Death". The name and design are both nods to the iconic Ibanez "Tree of Life" inlay design, but with a twist.

AZ Oval C neck profile

It is noticeably thicker than how Ibanez usually has their necks. 20.5mm at the first fret and 22.5 at the 12th fret. The fingerboard radius is a compromise to suit both chords and solo playing. The transition between the fingerboard and the neck is softly rounded called "rolled fretboard edges", which gives a very smooth feel.

Body

The body is designed to be comfortable and without sharp edges so that you can both stand or sit and play for longer periods. The rounding of the edges is softer on the back than on the front. The neck meets the body with the Ibanez Super All Access Neck Joint, which is a further development of their well-proven All Access Neck Joint.
