Construction and Neck

The RG450DXB features a body made of meranti, a lightweight wood with a balanced frequency response across the tonal range. This wood is well-suited for distorted sounds as it blends the tone smoothly without becoming unclear. The neck is a Wizard III maple with a slightly thicker and rounder profile than the standard Wizard, featuring a 400 mm radius. It has 24 jumbo frets and a jatoba fingerboard with sharktooth inlays.

Electronics and Bridge

The guitar is equipped with three Quantum pickups: humbuckers at the neck and bridge positions and a single coil in the middle. A five-way switch controls the pickup combinations along with shared tone and volume controls. The bridge is an Edge-Zero II tremolo, providing stable tuning.

Pickup Positions and Sound Characteristics

The switch offers different wiring options: full series, split coil, and single coil, allowing variation in output and tone. The split coil positions are wired in parallel with the middle pickup, which provides noise cancellation and a clearer, more open tone with defined bass. The active coil in the humbuckers can be positioned closer to the bridge or neck, affecting the tone by producing brighter or warmer sounds respectively.
