Construction and Neck

The RGT1220PBK-COL belongs to Ibanez’s Premium series, positioned between the Prestige and standard lines. It features a 7-piece neck-thru construction made from maple and walnut, providing stability and strength. The neck profile is Wizard III, a slightly thicker version of the classic Wizard shape. The ebony fretboard is equipped with jumbo stainless steel frets that offer increased durability and maintain smooth playability over time. Side dot inlays are luminescent for visibility in low-light settings. The scale length measures 648 mm (25.5”), with a fretboard width ranging from 43 mm at the nut to 58 mm at the last fret.

Body and Tonewoods

The body is crafted from American basswood, a lightweight wood with a balanced frequency response across the spectrum. This makes it versatile for a wide range of tones, suitable for both clean and distorted sounds without becoming muddy. The top is made from burl poplar, a wood with unique visual patterns that make each guitar distinct.

Electronics and Features

This guitar comes equipped with DiMarzio Air Norton in the neck position and The Tone Zone in the bridge position. It features the dyna-MIX10 switching system with an Alter Switch, providing multiple pickup configuration options. The bridge is an Edge tremolo with Cosmo Black hardware.
