Sierra Hull is one of the world’s most accomplished mandolin players, known for her technical mastery and creativity across bluegrass, Americana, and progressive acoustic music. The Gibson Sierra Hull F5G is the first-ever Gibson signature mandolin designed for a female artist. Built on the classic F-5G platform and customized to Sierra’s exact specifications, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern expressiveness and stage-ready reliability.

Construction and materials/components

The body features a two-piece quarter-sawn figured red maple back and flat-sawn figured maple sides paired with a hand-carved Sitka spruce top. The top is multi-ply celluloid nitrate bound and finished with a hand-applied VOS varnish in the exclusive Sierra Burst color – a first for the F-5G line. The figured maple neck has Sierra’s custom narrow profile and an ebony fingerboard with 20 frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays.

Details and hardware

The historic scroll headstock is adorned with “The Gibson” logo and a Flowerpot inlay in mother of pearl. Grover tuners ensure tuning stability, while the nickel-plated tailpiece cover is engraved with “The Gibson” and Sierra Hull’s initials. The ebony bridge provides solid tonal transfer and precise intonation. Each instrument includes a certificate of authenticity, a Sierra Hull BlueChip pick, and a protective hardshell case.
