Nord Stage EX 88 – Digital Stage Piano (2008–2011)

The Nord Stage EX 88 builds on the original Nord Stage platform, produced between 2008 and 2011. It integrates three powerful sound engines – organ, piano, and synth – into a single instrument designed for professional performance and studio work. The EX version introduced upgraded hardware, expanded memory, and a refreshed visual design.

Keyboard and Construction

Equipped with an 88-key weighted hammer-action keyboard with aftertouch, the Stage EX 88 provides a natural and expressive playing experience. Three LED-indicated split zones allow seamless control over layered or divided sound setups.

Sound Engines

• Organ: B3 Tone Wheel, Vox Continental, and Farfisa models with full polyphony, digital drawbars, percussion, and vibrato/chorus control.
• Piano: Acoustic grands, uprights, electric pianos, Wurlitzer A200, Clavinet D6, harpsichord, and CP-80 electric grand with up to 60-voice polyphony and 4 velocity curves.
• Synth: Analog modeling, 2–3 operator FM synthesis, and wavetable synthesis with 77 waveforms, 16-voice polyphony, filters with resonance, envelopes, and unison control.

Effects and Master Section

The Stage EX 88 features dual effect units with modulation, delay, wah, and ring modulation, plus amplifier simulations with EQ and overdrive. Master compressor and reverb (5 algorithms) provide final sound shaping. A rotary speaker effect with variable speed and overdrive is also included.

Connectivity

Includes 4 assignable line outputs (¼”), stereo headphone out, MIDI in/out, USB type B, and multiple pedal inputs for sustain, rotor, and expression. IEC power connector included.
