Fender Studio Motion 16 – MIDI pad controller with 16 FATAR pads

Fender Studio Motion 16 is a professional MIDI pad controller with 16 RGB-backlit FATAR pads, touch-sensitive encoders, a colour display and deep integration with Fender Studio Pro. It is designed for music production, beatmaking, finger drumming and live performance, with direct control over virtual instruments, effects, recording and mixing.

With Smart Scale, Smart Chords, more than 30 preset chord progressions and a multifunction touch strip, Motion 16 provides fast access to creative tools directly from the controller. A perpetual licence for Fender Studio Pro is included.

Overview and features

16 RGB-backlit FATAR pads

Motion 16 features 16 polyphonic FATAR pads with velocity and pressure sensitivity. They are designed for finger drumming, melodies, chords and other expressive playing techniques, while RGB lighting provides clear visual feedback.

Deep integration with Fender Studio Pro

Motion 16 is designed for close integration with Fender Studio Pro, providing direct control over transport, recording, tracks, virtual instruments and effects. A dedicated Add button also allows instruments, audio tracks and effects to be added directly from the controller.

Smart Scale, Smart Chords and Chord Mode

Smart Scale helps keep melodic playing within a selected scale, while Smart Chords allows chords to be played directly from the pads. Chord Mode also includes more than 30 preset chord progressions with tailored voicings for songwriting, improvisation and production.

Touch-sensitive encoders and colour display

The illuminated touch-sensitive encoders provide direct control over parameters in virtual instruments, plug-ins and the mixer. The built-in colour display shows relevant parameter information and provides clear visual feedback while working.

Touch strip for expressive control

The multifunction touch strip can be used for functions such as pitch bend and modulation, adding further expressive control when playing virtual instruments in the studio or on stage.

USB-C and MIDI I/O

Motion 16 connects via USB-C and also features MIDI input and output via 3.5 mm mini-TRS. This allows it to be used both with computer-based DAW setups and with compatible external synthesisers, drum machines and other MIDI equipment.
