Yamaha AMT0807-SOB Absolute Hybrid Maple 8x7" - Solid Black

Yamaha AMT0807-SOB Absolute Hybrid Maple 8x7" Tom Tom – Hybrid construction for exceptional tone and dynamics

Yamaha AMT0807-SOB Absolute Hybrid Maple Tom Tom represents Yamaha’s dedication to creating the most expressive drum sound possible. With its Hybrid Maple shell, Hook Lugs, and advanced YESS III mounting system, this tom delivers outstanding response, tonal control, and musical dynamics – no matter your style or playing intensity.

Hybrid Maple Shell – balance between power and clarity

The unique Hybrid Maple construction features a core ply of wenge – an extremely dense hardwood – sandwiched between layers of maple, known for its clear, natural tone. The result is a rich, articulate sound with depth and clarity across the full dynamic range, from soft nuance to powerful attack.

Maximized tone and sustain

The YESS III mount allows the shell to vibrate more freely, enhancing sustain and resonance. The low-profile Hook Lugs ensure fast tuning and easy head changes while minimizing shell contact for natural resonance. The lightweight Low-Mass Tom Holder Base lets the bass drum shell resonate openly for a fuller sound.

Precision and detail

Every detail of the Absolute Hybrid series is optimized for performance. 45°/R1.5 bearing edges on toms and snares deliver balanced tone, while 30°/R1.5 edges on bass drums produce deeper low-end response. The precisely placed vent hole optimizes airflow and sustain, resulting in natural attack and tone. The inner shell is finished in an elegant Vintage Natural finish for enhanced sound and aesthetics.

3.0 mm Aluminum Die-Cast Hoops

Lightweight yet rigid aluminum die-cast hoops provide clear attack, focused tone, and controlled sustain – ideal for both stage and studio use.
