A Tribute to a Legend

The Gibson SJ-200 Johnny Cash is a meticulously crafted limited edition built to honor the legacy of one of music’s most influential figures. Only 100 pieces were hand-made by the Gibson Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana. This recreation is based on two SJ-200 guitars Gibson built for Johnny Cash in the late 1950s, featuring his name inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the fretboard and a pickguard design created by Cash himself.

Construction and Design

Featuring the classic Super Jumbo body with AAA flamed maple back and sides and an AAA Sitka spruce top, the guitar combines stunning aesthetics with premium tonewoods. The 2-piece flamed maple neck with a walnut stringer adds stability, while the Indian rosewood fingerboard showcases the elegant “Johnny Cash” pearl inlay. The Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish and multi-ply binding complete this custom masterpiece.

Hardware and Appointments

Fitted with a Four Bar SJ-200 moustache bridge, gold Gotoh tuners with green Keystone buttons, and a Custom Johnny Cash hardshell case.
