Gibson SJ-200 Studio Rosewood Natural
The Super Jumbo Reimagined
The Gibson SJ-200 Studio Rosewood Natural continues the legacy of the world’s most famous acoustic guitar. Originally introduced in 1937, the SJ-200 became the definitive Super Jumbo, loved for its commanding tone and projection. This modern Studio version uses solid Sitka spruce for the top and solid rosewood for the back and sides, offering a deeper, more resonant bass and enhanced harmonic richness — reminiscent of rare pre-war rosewood SJ-200s.
Construction and Feel
The utile neck features Gibson’s Advanced Response profile — perfectly balanced between slim and rounded for comfortable playability. The rosewood fingerboard has 20 frets, a 16” radius, and elegant mother-of-pearl crown inlays. Finished in gloss Sitka spruce and satin rosewood, the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood feels smooth and natural in hand.
Electronics and Hardware
Equipped with an LR Baggs Element Bronze active under-saddle pickup and soundhole-mounted volume control for easy plug-and-play performance. Grover Rotomatic tuners, a TUSQ nut and saddle, and a rosewood moustache bridge provide tuning stability and tonal consistency. Includes a modern hardshell case.
