The Gibson Songwriter EC Custom Ebony combines traditional construction with refined Custom aesthetics. First introduced in 2003, the Songwriter blends Gibson’s 1930s bracing patterns with a contemporary dreadnought shape, producing rich tonal depth and balance. The solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides deliver warmth and clarity, while the cutaway design ensures easy access to upper frets.

Construction and Design

A round-profile mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard provides smooth playability. The Les Paul Custom-inspired look features an Ebony nitrocellulose finish, multi-ply binding, a split-diamond headstock inlay, and gold Grover Rotomatic tuners — combining visual sophistication with professional performance.

Electronics and Hardware

Equipped with an L.R. Baggs Session VTC pickup system with soundhole-mounted controls for natural tone shaping. Comes complete with a Gibson hardshell case.
