The DOD Overdrive Preamp 250-X is the tenth evolution of the OD250, offering versatile tonal options for a wide range of playing styles. It combines classic controls with modern features to provide a broad spectrum of overdrive and boost sounds.

Tone control and overdrive modes

The 250-X retains the familiar Gain and Level controls of the original while expanding its sonic palette with a three-position toggle switch:

• SILICON – symmetrical clipping for the classic OD250 tone
• ASYM – asymmetrical clipping for harmonically rich overdrive
• LIFT – removes diode clipping for a clean boost at lower settings and a dirtier boost at higher levels using a vintage-style LM741 op-amp

Design and connectivity

Housed in a durable aluminum chassis and weighing just 250 grams, the pedal is suitable for both stage and studio use. It features true hard-wire bypass, modern 9V DC input (+18V tolerant circuitry), and ¼” input/output jacks.
