Overview and Features
DNA Engine – Next-Generation Neural Amplifier Modelling
ZOOM NEURIG is powered by the new DNA Engine (Dynamic Neural Archive), a modelling platform developed to recreate how real guitar amplifiers and effects pedals respond to different settings and playing techniques. Rather than simply reproducing a static sound, the technology models how the character of the equipment changes as gain, tone controls and other parameters are adjusted.
NEURIG includes 30 DNA amplifier and effects models, providing everything from dynamic clean tones and classic overdriven amplifiers to modern high-gain sounds. The technology is designed to deliver a natural playing feel where picking dynamics, guitar volume adjustments and parameter changes influence the response of the sound.
Native NAM A2 Lite – Access to an Extensive Tone Library
NEURIG features native NAM A2 Lite support, a version of the open-source Neural Amp Modeler format that allows compatible neural captures of guitar amplifiers, effects pedals, speaker cabinets and complete signal chains to be loaded and used.
Through the SessionZ Pedal app, you can connect to TONE3000, a community platform featuring over 700,000 NAM captures and impulse responses. Explore sounds ranging from vintage amplifiers and exclusive boutique pedals to modern high-gain rigs, then transfer compatible models directly to NEURIG.
This provides the flexibility to combine classic amplifier sounds and community-created NAM models with NEURIG's built-in effects and your own custom settings.
22 Multi-Layer Cabinet IRs and Custom Impulse Responses
NEURIG recreates the important contribution of guitar speaker cabinets through 22 Multi-Layer IR models. Each model combines three impulse responses recorded at different volume levels to deliver a more dynamic and natural cabinet representation.
You can also adjust microphone type and placement to shape the sound to your preferences. NEURIG additionally provides 50 slots for user-loaded IR files, supporting impulse responses of up to 2048 samples, allowing you to use your own or third-party cabinet simulations.
139 Effects and Up to 14 Simultaneous Blocks
NEURIG includes 139 built-in effects covering overdrive, distortion, compression, EQ, modulation, delay, reverb and other creative sound-shaping tools. These effects can be combined with amplifier models and NAM captures to create complete digital guitar rigs.
Each RIG can contain up to 14 simultaneous amplifier and effects blocks. Signal routing supports serial, parallel and split configurations, allowing you to create layered sounds, combine different effects or send separate signals to equipment such as a guitar amplifier and a PA system.
Internal audio processing uses 32-bit floating-point precision, providing extensive dynamic range and detailed sound reproduction even with complex effects chains.
200 RIG Locations and Seamless Sound Switching
ZOOM NEURIG comes with 75 ready-to-play RIG configurations and provides storage for up to 200 user rigs. Each RIG can contain four presets that can be selected using the pedal's footswitches.
This makes it possible to organise clean tones, rhythm sounds and different lead tones within a single RIG. Switching between rigs and effects takes place without audible audio dropouts, while delay and reverb trails can continue to decay naturally.
This feature is particularly useful during live performances, where rapid sound changes need to happen without interrupting the music.
SessionZ Pedal – Wireless Editing and New Sounds
SessionZ Pedal is ZOOM's dedicated app for managing NEURIG and its extended features. Using Bluetooth connectivity, you can explore and edit rigs, adjust effects and manage sound libraries directly from a compatible mobile device.
The app also provides access to TONE3000 for discovering and transferring new NAM captures. Wireless connectivity makes it easy to create and refine sounds without having to navigate every setting directly on the pedal.
Rig AI – Create Guitar Tones Using Text Descriptions
Rig AI is an AI-assisted feature within SessionZ Pedal that helps you create guitar rigs using natural-language descriptions. For example, describe a warm blues tone, an aggressive modern metal sound or a spacious ambient texture with delay and reverb.
The app uses your description to build a suggested signal chain, which can then be adjusted to suit your preferences. This offers a convenient way to explore new combinations of amplifiers and effects.
SessionZ Play and AI-Powered Stem Separation
With SessionZ Play, you can stream music and backing tracks via Bluetooth and practise along with your favourite songs. The pedal's footswitches can be used to control compatible playback functions, including play, pause, track selection, fast-forward and rewind.
SessionZ also offers AI-powered stem separation for compatible audio files stored on your phone. This feature can isolate guitar, bass, drums or vocals, making it easier to study individual instruments or practise alongside a backing track without the original guitar part.
Planned NAM Capture Function for Your Own Equipment
ZOOM has announced a planned NAM Capture feature for NEURIG, designed to allow users to create neural models of their own amplifiers, effects pedals and complete signal chains. The proposed workflow uses the pedal's connections to collect audio data, which is then sent via Wi-Fi to TONE3000 for cloud-based analysis.
This feature has been announced for a future update and should not be confused with the existing ability to load and play compatible NAM A2 Lite captures.
Dual Touchscreens and Flexible Foot Control
NEURIG features two separate LCD touchscreens, each with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The combination of touchscreen operation, physical controls and four footswitches makes it easy to navigate between rigs, adjust parameters and control effects while playing.
For additional control, a CONTROL IN connection supports compatible ZOOM accessories such as the FP02M expression pedal or FS01 footswitch. MIDI IN and OUT connections allow integration with other MIDI equipment.
USB Audio Interface with 32-Bit Float Recording
NEURIG also functions as a USB audio interface for recording and playback with a computer, smartphone or tablet. The USB-C connection provides two inputs and two outputs at a 48 kHz sample rate with 32-bit floating-point audio.
This allows you to record guitar directly into a DAW, use NEURIG for livestreaming or practise alongside audio played from a connected device. The USB connection is also used for charging and external power.
Professional Connectivity and Four-Cable Method Support
The connection panel includes an instrument input, stereo outputs, a headphone output and a SEND/RETURN effects loop, allowing external effects pedals and other audio equipment to be integrated into your rig.
The effects loop supports both instrument-level and professional +4 dBu line-level equipment, making NEURIG suitable for use with rack processors. Four-Cable Method (4CM) support allows different effects to be positioned before or after a guitar amplifier's preamp section.
The stereo outputs allow you to send your sound to two amplifiers, a stereo monitoring system or separate channels on a mixing console.
Built-In Looper and Chromatic Tuner
NEURIG features a built-in stereo looper with up to 45 seconds of recording time. Record musical phrases, add overdubs and use undo and redo functions directly from the footswitches.
The built-in chromatic tuner supports standard tuning, alternative tunings and down-tuned guitars, including seven-string instruments.
Rechargeable Battery and Compact Design
The built-in lithium-ion battery provides up to approximately 4.5 hours of operation on a single charge. Charging takes around three hours via USB-C. NEURIG can also operate continuously from a compatible USB power supply rated at a minimum of 10 W (5 V / 2 A).
Measuring approximately 236 x 121 x 54 mm and weighing just 850 grams, NEURIG is easy to transport and integrate into an existing pedalboard. Built-in Wi-Fi also enables firmware updates without connecting the unit to a computer.
