KORG DTR-1 Rack Tuner – precise and reliable tuning for stage and studio

KORG DTR-1 is a professional rack-mounted tuner that provides fast, silent and accurate tuning for live and studio use. It combines digital precision with classic, straightforward operation and is equipped with three indication modes, automatic and manual calibration, and a built-in mute function for silent tuning.

Overview and features

The DTR-1 includes dual rear inputs, a front microphone and a clear LED display. The meter shows deviation in cents, hertz or strobe, making it suitable for both fine adjustment and quick on-stage checks. The CABLE CHECK feature lets you test instrument cables directly on the unit, while the SOUND mode outputs a reference tone via a separate output.

Construction and components

Built in a robust metal chassis with EIA-standard 1U height (19"). The front panel offers dedicated controls for input selection, mute, calibration and indication mode. The LED meter supports both quick visual reading and higher resolution in the Hz mode. Supplied with insulation washers, bushings and screws for rack mounting.

Connections and integration

Front panel: INPUT 1, CABLE CHECK jack, MUTE jack and microphone. Rear panel: dual INPUT jacks [1]/[2], OUTPUT, SOUND output, MUTE jack for footswitch and INPUT SELECT footswitch jack. The MUTE function enables silent tuning without interrupting the signal flow to a mixer or amplifier.

Control and workflow

The INDICATION MODE key toggles between CENT, Hz and STROBE display. The CALIB key adjusts the reference manually (438–445 Hz) or starts automatic calibration (428–452 Hz). SOUND mode is engaged by pressing the two SOUND keys and outputs a reference tone. The microphone is used by selecting a disconnected input and turning MUTE on.
