Guild Starfire Deluxe Bass Teal the Deal

Guild Starfire Deluxe Bass Teal the Deal – semi-hollow electric bass with BiSonic pickups and Master Volume

Guild Starfire Deluxe Bass Teal the Deal is a double-cutaway semi-hollow electric bass from Guild's Newark St. Collection, designed for bassists who want classic 1960s-inspired character with modern playability and clear articulation. Its arched maple top and back, maple sides and set mahogany neck provide a resonant semi-hollow construction with a full fundamental and open response.

Two Guild BS-1 BiSonic single-coil pickups deliver a full, rich bass sound with excellent articulation. Individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup are complemented by a Master Volume, allowing the overall output level to be adjusted without changing the individual pickup settings.

The metallic Teal the Deal gloss polyurethane finish is paired with a rosewood fingerboard, pearloid block inlays, Guild adjustable bass bridge with rosewood saddles and Grover Vintage Bass open-gear tuners for a distinctive yet classic overall design.

Overview and features

Double-cutaway semi-hollow construction

Starfire Deluxe Bass features a double-cutaway semi-hollow body with an arched maple top and back and maple sides. The construction provides a resonant, open tonal character, while the double-cutaway shape offers good access to the upper frets.

Guild BS-1 BiSonic single-coil pickups

The two Guild BS-1 BiSonic pickups are well matched to the semi-hollow construction, delivering a full and rich bass sound with strong articulation. This makes the bass suitable for both warm vintage tones and more clearly defined bass lines.

Individual Volume and Tone controls with Master Volume

Each pickup has its own Volume and Tone control, allowing the neck and bridge pickups to be adjusted independently. A separate Master Volume then lets you change the overall output level without affecting the balance between the individual pickup settings.

Vintage Soft U mahogany neck

The set mahogany neck uses Guild's Vintage Soft U profile, designed to provide a comfortable and stable playing feel with clear vintage character.

Rosewood fingerboard with block inlays

The rosewood fingerboard features decorative pearloid block inlays. Ivory-coloured fingerboard binding contributes to the bass's classic Deluxe aesthetic.

Guild adjustable bass bridge with rosewood saddles

The Guild adjustable bass bridge is fitted with rosewood saddles and complements the instrument's semi-hollow construction and traditional design.

Deluxe Trim Package

The Deluxe trim package includes ivory-coloured binding around the body, F-holes and fingerboard, 3-ply black and ivory purfling on the top and back, and pearloid Guild Peak and Chesterfield headstock inlays.

Teal the Deal finish and Grover Vintage Bass tuners

The metallic Teal the Deal gloss polyurethane finish gives the bass a distinctive visual character, while Grover Vintage Bass open-gear tuners complete the vintage-inspired design.
