Kala Solid Body U•BASS – 4-String Fretted Model in Sweet Cream Finish

This short-scale electric bass draws inspiration from the original California Series U•BASS®, offering a modern interpretation of the classic concept. Its offset body design provides both balance and comfort, making it easy to handle while remaining compact enough for travel. With a 23.5" scale length and 22 frets, it offers plenty of playing space in a small footprint.

The passive split-coil pickup delivers a punchy and full-bodied tone. The instrument comes with a truss rod adjustment tool and a padded gig bag specifically designed for the model.

Construction and Materials

The body and top are made from okoume, with a maple neck and laurel fingerboard. It features a glossy Sweet Cream finish and a 3-ply black pickguard. The top-loaded 4-saddle bridge in black offers reliable intonation, while the black sealed tuners have a 1:18 gear ratio.

Electronics and Hardware

Equipped with a passive split-coil pickup featuring separate volume and tone controls. Two black strap buttons are included, and the bass is factory-strung with Kala round wound strings.

Storage and Transport

A custom gig bag for the Solid Body U•BASS® is included. The bass also fits the Kala Gray Tweed Hard Case.
