This electric guitar continues Gibson’s legendary Les Paul Junior concept – a simple yet powerful instrument that began as a student model in the 1950s and later became a favorite among professional musicians. The 1960 Double Cut version delivers the same raw expression and direct tone, meticulously recreated by the Gibson Custom Shop.

Construction and materials

The solid mahogany body is paired with a set mahogany neck joined using traditional hide-glue construction. The 50s Rounded Medium C neck profile and Indian rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid dot inlays ensure classic playability. A wraparound bridge provides tuning stability and impressive sustain.

Electronics

Equipped with a Gibson Custom Dogear P-90 pickup, the Les Paul Junior offers open, dynamic, and articulate tone. CTS audio-taper potentiometers and a paper-in-oil capacitor maintain vintage-correct response and tonal clarity.

Finish and details

The Murphy Lab Heavy Aged treatment on finish and hardware recreates decades of natural wear, giving the instrument the authentic feel and character of a true Golden Era original. Includes an aged Lifton 5-Latch Brown/Pink hardcase.
