Overview

Schecter Synyster Gates Custom S Black / Gold is a signature model developed in collaboration with Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold. The guitar is built for high-performance playing styles and combines premium materials, advanced electronics, and a construction designed for stability and full upper-fret access.

Body and construction

The body is made from mahogany and features a flat top design with gold pinstripes against a gloss black finish. The set-neck construction with Ultra Access improves access to the upper frets while contributing to sustain and consistent resonance.

Neck and fingerboard

The neck is constructed from three pieces of mahogany and reinforced with carbon fiber rods for increased stability. The Ultra Thin “C” neck profile is designed for fast and technical playing. The ebony fingerboard features 24 X-Jumbo frets, a 16” radius, and distinctive gold inlays including the Death Bat symbol at the 12th fret. Glow-in-the-dark side dot markers improve visibility in low-light environments.

Pickups and electronics

The guitar is equipped with a Schecter USA Synyster Gates Signature Humbucker in the bridge position and a Sustainiac® pickup in the neck position. The Sustainiac system offers three modes – Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic – and is activated via a dedicated switch for controlled electromagnetic feedback and extended sustain. Electronics are completed by volume and tone controls and a three-way pickup switch.

Bridge, tuners, and hardware

The bridge is a Floyd Rose 1500 system with locking nut, designed for tuning stability even during extensive vibrato use. Grover Rotomatic tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio provide reliable tuning. All hardware is finished in gold for a cohesive visual appearance.
