Ibanez RG8EX-BKF – 8-string electric guitar
Construction and Neck
The RG8EX features a 5-piece Wizard II-8 neck made of maple and walnut with a scale length of 685.8 mm. This provides stable low tones without the neck feeling too long, maintaining a playing feel that differs from a bass guitar. The neck’s width and thickness are designed to accommodate eight strings.
Body and Tonewood
The body is made from meranti, a tonewood with a balanced frequency response suitable for distorted sounds. The result is a cohesive and clear tone without becoming scattered or muddy.
Electronics and Features
The guitar is equipped with Ibanez IBZ-8 humbuckers in both neck and bridge positions. The pickups are connected to a 3-way switch controlling different combinations, with shared tone and volume controls. All settings use series wiring, which provides maximum output and noise reduction.
Additional Details
The bridge is an F108 fixed model, and the hardware is black. The factory tuning is set for an 8-string guitar with low-tuned strings. The Jatoba fretboard offers a durable surface with white dot position markers.
