The ESP LTD EXL-7 Baritone Black Metal Black Redburst Satin is a 7-string baritone guitar from the Black Metal II series, developed for heavy music, low tunings and a focused, direct playing approach. The model combines a 27" scale length with Set-Thru construction, a mahogany body, three-piece maple neck and a dark Macassar ebony fingerboard.

The extended baritone scale provides a tighter response and improved definition on the lower strings when tuning down. The Thin U neck profile, 400 mm fingerboard radius and 24 Extra Jumbo stainless steel frets deliver a fast and precise playing feel suited to both heavy riffing and technical playing.

The bridge position is equipped with a Seymour Duncan Mortal Coil 7 3-Voice Active pickup. It offers three different voicings selected using the dedicated Voice Selection switch, providing multiple tonal characters from a single pickup position without complicating the guitar's stripped-back control layout.

27" baritone scale for low tunings

The 27" scale length provides greater string tension than a traditional guitar scale, contributing to a tighter feel and improved definition in the lower register. This makes the EXL-7 particularly well suited to 7-string playing, down-tuning and riffing where a clear attack and tight low end are essential.

Set-Thru construction and Thin U neck

The Set-Thru construction combines a stable neck joint with a smooth transition between neck and body. The three-piece maple neck features a Thin U profile and is paired with a Macassar ebony fingerboard with a 400 mm radius.
