The ESP LTD EXL Black Metal II Black Redburst Satin is an aggressive EXL-style electric guitar designed for modern heavy music. It combines a mahogany body with Set-Thru construction, a three-piece maple neck and a Macassar ebony fingerboard. The Black Redburst Satin finish and black hardware give the guitar the dark, stripped-back look that defines the Black Metal II series.

With a 24.75" scale length, Thin U neck profile and 24 Extra Jumbo stainless steel frets, the EXL Black Metal II is built for a fast and direct playing feel. The electronics are intentionally minimal, with a single Seymour Duncan Mortal Coil 3-Voice Active pickup in the bridge position, a master volume control and a switch for selecting between the pickup’s three voicings.

Seymour Duncan Mortal Coil 3-Voice Active

The bridge position is equipped with a Seymour Duncan Mortal Coil 3-Voice Active pickup, designed to provide several tonal characters from a single pickup. The Voice Selection switch lets you choose between three different voicings to adapt the response and character to your playing style and sound.

Set-Thru construction and Thin U neck

The Set-Thru construction combines a stable neck joint with a smooth transition between neck and body for easy access to the highest frets. The three-piece maple neck features ESP’s Thin U profile and a 24.75" scale length.

Macassar ebony and stainless steel frets

The Macassar ebony fingerboard has a 350 mm radius and 24 Extra Jumbo stainless steel frets. This combination provides a fast, precise playing feel, while stainless steel offers excellent wear resistance. The clean fingerboard has no traditional front inlays and is complemented by glow-in-the-dark side markers.

Locking hardware

LTD locking tuners are paired with a TonePros Locking Tune-o-Matic bridge and tailpiece. The all-black hardware complements the stripped-back Black Metal aesthetic while providing a stable setup for demanding playing.
