ADAM Audio Sub8 PRO is a professional active studio subwoofer featuring an 8-inch high-excursion woofer, powerful Class D amplification and an advanced DSP platform. Designed as the low-frequency foundation for compact monitoring systems, it combines controlled bass reproduction with flexible bass management, extensive calibration options and both analogue and digital connectivity.

Via Ethernet and ADAM Control, Sub8 PRO can be manually time aligned, calibrated using four bands of parametric EQ and loaded with Sonarworks calibration profiles directly into its integrated DSP platform. AES3, balanced XLR/TRS connectivity and dedicated Stereo, LFE and Wide operating modes make it suitable for everything from conventional stereo monitoring to modern immersive and Dolby Atmos workflows.

Overview and features

8-inch high-excursion woofer and FEA-optimised bass reflex port

Sub8 PRO uses an 8-inch high-excursion woofer together with an FEA-optimised bass reflex port. The design is engineered to provide powerful, controlled low-frequency reproduction while maintaining a compact footprint suitable for smaller and medium-sized control rooms.

DSP-based bass management

The integrated DSP platform provides comprehensive control over how the subwoofer integrates with the main monitors. Phase and crossover settings can be adjusted to achieve a smooth transition between the subwoofer and monitoring system.

A dedicated footswitch input can activate or bypass bass management, making it easy to compare the monitoring system with and without the subwoofer engaged.

ADAM Control via Ethernet

The Ethernet port provides access to ADAM Control, the included management application for networked ADAM Audio products. Sub8 PRO can be configured, time aligned and calibrated directly from a computer.

Firmware updates are also handled through ADAM Control, allowing future functionality and improvements to be added to the subwoofer.

Four-band parametric EQ and manual time alignment

Sub8 PRO can be manually time aligned for accurate integration with the main monitors. Four bands of parametric EQ provide further control for adapting the response to the room acoustics and monitoring position.

Direct Sonarworks calibration profile support

Sonarworks calibration profiles can be uploaded directly to the integrated DSP platform inside Sub8 PRO. This allows the calibration to run within the subwoofer itself rather than relying on a separate DAW plug-in.

AES3 and balanced analogue connectivity

For digital workflows, Sub8 PRO provides AES3 input and output. Balanced XLR and TRS analogue inputs and outputs are also available, making the subwoofer easy to integrate into both digital and conventional studio systems.

Stereo, LFE and Wide operating modes

Stereo mode supports conventional monitoring configurations. Sub8 PRO also provides two operating modes designed with immersive production environments in mind.

LFE mode is suited to applications such as Dolby Atmos mixing where the subwoofer is used as a dedicated Low Frequency Effects channel. Wide mode allows the subwoofer to operate across its full available frequency range for additional flexibility in multichannel systems.

Robust wooden cabinet and metal grille

The electronics and driver are housed in a robust wooden cabinet, while a solid metal grille protects the woofer. Sub8 PRO is supplied with a two-year warranty that can be extended to five years after product registration.
