Dual-process exciter and bass enhancer inspired by classic late-1970s and 1980s hardware. Parallel harmonic generation for the highs, timing-and-dynamics-based perception for the lows. More sparkle, weightier bass - without raising output levels.
• Two Parallel Sidechain Processors
EXCITER and BASS ENHANCER each run as independent parallel sidechains alongside the untouched dry signal. Because they work on separate frequency territories and never cascade, they don't interfere with each other - use one, the other, or both together.
• Synthesized High-Frequency Harmonics
The EXCITER side generates new harmonic content above the source spectrum rather than boosting what's already there. Transient-aware shaping gives sharp attacks more emphasis and treats sustained tones gently, adding sparkle, definition, and air without raising output level in any meaningful way.
• Perceptual Bass Enhancement
The BASS ENHANCER reshapes low-end through a tunable second-order low-pass filter and a leveling stage, then sums the result out-of-phase with the dry signal. Quiet input lets the processed bass fill in; loud input keeps peaks barely changed. Heavier, more sustained bass - no extra clipping, no overdriven speakers, no headroom problems.
• Two Harmonic Clipper Modes
Rectifier (default) uses a parallel topology with a half-wave rectifier path and a clean compressed path crossfaded by Timbre - dramatic, characterful, dense even harmonics. Cubic uses a single soft clipper with DC offset for asymmetry - smoother, gentler, more forgiving.
• Spectral Phase Refractor
SPR processes the main audio path so bass frequencies up to approximately 150 Hz lead in phase relative to the rest of the spectrum. Corrects cumulative phase smearing from recording, processing, and reproduction. Restores clarity, openness, and apparent bass energy without any amplitude change. Works independently of both sidechains.
• Continuous Peaking & Null Fill
Peaking varies the sidechain filter resonance from a gentle slope to a focused peak at the Tune frequency. Null Fill restores presence at the Tune frequency that can dip when the sidechain is mixed back in - precise filter shaping without losing body.
• AutoTrace Bass Leveling
Self-optimizing dynamics in the BASS ENHANCER's leveling amplifier. Tracks input level and adjusts internal threshold so the enhancement stays consistent regardless of source loudness. Particularly useful on full mixes, live recordings, or any material where bass level varies over time.
• Three-Way Mono Mode
Off leaves the stereo image untouched. BB Only sums the bass sidechain to mono. All Bass M/S-encodes the dry signal and high-passes the side channel at the Tune frequency, forcing all bass below that point to the center. Inspired by club sound and vinyl cutting workflows.
• EXCITER Stereo Width
Independent 0–200% width control on the EXCITER sidechain only. Mono-sum, preserve, or exaggerate via M/S processing for a wider, more spacious top end - without affecting the dry signal or the bass enhancement.
• Auto-Tuned Output Shelving EQ
Out Low and Out High shelves automatically track the BASS ENHANCER and EXCITER Tune knobs respectively, so the shelves always operate exactly where the processing is happening. Boost to emphasize, cut to tame.
• Density Mode
EXCITER High Density compresses peaks and expands low-level signals before the waveshaper for a hotter, more consistent harmonic character - useful when you want the exciter to work harder across a wider dynamic range, or when high Harmonics settings cause clipping.
• Mastering-Grade Master Section
6 dB/oct input HPF for subsonic cleanup, latency-compensated wet/dry Mix, two clip-0dB safety stages, up to 4× oversampling (Normal / HQ / Ultra), per-section Solo monitoring, and a smooth 3 ms Bypass crossfade.
