The Ibanez PIA3761C-BLP is the result of close collaboration with Steve Vai and builds on the foundation of his earlier models. The body has been reshaped with smoother contours and an extended, deeper arm cut for a more natural playing position. A new grip design, called the Petal Grip, replaces the previous handle shape.

The volume knob is positioned lower to avoid interference while playing, and the new fretboard inlay design is known as PIA Blossom.

Neck for Optimized Playability

The five-piece maple/walnut neck features the PIA profile, developed to provide a balanced feel. It’s paired with a rosewood fretboard and fitted with jumbo stainless steel frets, including scalloping between frets 21 and 24. Luminlay side dots help maintain visibility in darker environments.

Electronics and Pickups

Equipped with three specially designed DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups—humbuckers in the neck and bridge, and a single coil in the middle—the guitar delivers a wide tonal range from rich low-end to clear treble. A push-pull high pass filter on the volume control retains clarity when lowering the volume.

Tremolo System and Hardware

The model uses the Ibanez EDGE tremolo with adjustable string spacing and a lightweight arm. The spring cavity cover is magnet-mounted for quick access. Gotoh tuners ensure tuning stability and reliability.
