Introduced in 1962, the Gibson Dove quickly became an icon of the folk and rock era. The 1963 Dove Light Aged Natural is a meticulous recreation of those early models, handcrafted by Gibson Custom and aged by Murphy Lab to capture the look, tone, and feel of a vintage original.

Construction and materials

The body features a thermally aged Sitka spruce top with traditional scalloped X-bracing, joined with hide glue for superior resonance. The back and sides are beautifully flamed maple with a warm Cherry hue. The square-shouldered body produces a full, articulate sound with excellent projection.

Neck and playability

A mahogany neck with a Round profile and a 25.5" scale length offers bright tone and clear string separation. The Indian rosewood fingerboard features 20 frets and classic mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays.

Hardware and details

The rosewood Dove bridge features two mother-of-pearl dove inlays, while the pickguard showcases the iconic engraved vines, flowers, and a pearl dove. Nickel Kluson Waffleback tuners and bone nut, saddle, and pins ensure authentic vintage style and performance.

Finish and case

The Light Aged finish by Murphy Lab recreates subtle aging and light playwear, giving the guitar the patina of a well-loved original. Includes a vintage-style black hardshell case with gold interior.
