Gibson 1960 Hummingbird Heavy Aged Washed Cherry Sunburst
A legend reborn
The Gibson 1960 Hummingbird Heavy Aged revives the first square-shoulder acoustic Gibson ever made. Originally launched at the start of a new musical era, it quickly became a staple for countless artists. This Murphy Lab version captures the look, sound, and feel of a well-loved vintage instrument.
Construction and materials
Built with a thermally aged Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the 1960 Hummingbird delivers a warm, balanced tone with strong projection. Its Washed Cherry Sunburst finish, multi-ply body binding, and classic Hummingbird pickguard reflect authentic early-60s design.
Neck and playability
The mahogany neck features a comfortable round profile paired with an Indian rosewood fingerboard. With 20 frets, a 24.75" scale, and a 43.8 mm bone nut, it offers smooth and familiar Gibson playability.
Hardware and finish
A rosewood belly-up bridge, bone nut and saddle, and gold Gotoh tuners with Keystone buttons complement the vintage aesthetic. The Murphy Lab Heavy Aged finish gives each guitar a distinct, timeworn character.
