The Gibson LG-2 All Mahogany Faded Vintage Sunburst reimagines the beloved 1942 small-body LG-2 for the modern player. With its all-mahogany construction and vintage-inspired details, it offers the warmth and character of the original, enhanced with stage-ready electronics.

Construction and materials

Built entirely from solid mahogany — top, back, and sides — this LG-2 produces a warm, rounded tone with smooth response and rich midrange character. Traditional scalloped X-bracing provides structural integrity and dynamic projection. The single-ply black binding and teardrop pickguard give it an understated vintage look.

Neck and playability

The rounded mahogany neck joins the body with a compound dovetail joint. Its unbound rosewood fingerboard features 20 frets and simple mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The 24.75" scale ensures a comfortable, balanced playing feel ideal for fingerstyle or folk.

Electronics and hardware

Equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle pickup and preamp, the LG-2 allows for natural amplified tone with discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls. Additional features include Grover Strap tuners with cream buttons and a closed-slot rosewood bridge with bone saddle and TUSQ pins. Comes with a Gibson hardshell case.
