Gibson LG-2 All Mahogany Faded Natural
A timeless small-body classic, reborn
The Gibson LG-2 All Mahogany Faded Natural revives the spirit of the original 1942 LG-2 from Gibson’s famed Banner era. With its all-mahogany construction, this compact acoustic delivers a warm, mellow tone that’s ideal for folk, blues, and fingerstyle playing.
Construction and materials
Crafted entirely from solid mahogany for the top, back, and sides, the LG-2 produces a smooth, balanced voice with rich midrange depth. The traditional scalloped X-bracing ensures excellent resonance and dynamic response. Simple black binding and a natural faded finish give it an understated vintage appeal.
Neck and playability
The rounded mahogany neck joins the body with a compound dovetail joint for enhanced sustain. Its rosewood fingerboard features 20 frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The short 24.75" scale makes it comfortable and responsive, especially for fingerstyle players.
Electronics and hardware
Equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC undersaddle pickup and preamp, featuring discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls, the LG-2 is ready for any performance or recording session. Grover Strap tuners with cream buttons, a closed-slot rosewood bridge with bone saddle, and TUSQ bridge pins complete the setup. Includes a Gibson hardshell case.
